This Christmas, thousands of children will wake up without any presents to open.

Poverty, domestic abuse, and the cost-of-living crisis have led to worry, anxiety and hardship for many families.

At the Sarwar Foundation, we work with partner charities to help make Christmas a time for caring, sharing and spreading love.

Our Christmas Toybank Appeal ensures that thousands of children receive a present to open on Christmas Day.

But we can only do this with your support. Please donate whatever you can by clicking the button below.

We are working with Scottish Women’s Aid and the Glasgow No.1 Baby and Family Support Service to identify families in need.

This year, we want to raise more than £20,000 to pay for new toys or gift cards for children.

So far, we have raised an incredible £16,000.

Along with dozens of individual donations from charitable Scots, a generous £5,000 gift has been received from PFA Scotland, which is the collective voice for football players in Scotland.

Other organisations to contribute include Usdaw Scotland, GMB Scotland, Rangers FC, contact centre go-centric and the charity Blameless.

Supermarket Asda has also arranged donation collection points in its Govan and Bearsden stores.

You can still donate to Scotland’s Christmas Toybank Appeal to ensure that children in families impacted by domestic abuse, living in a refuge, or who would otherwise receive no Christmas presents have something to open.

Please make individual donations through JustGiving at www.justgiving.com/campaign/christmastoybank2021 or companies and organisations that want to support the campaign can get in touch at info@sarwarfoundation.org.

All funds go towards new toys or gift vouchers for children.

Fraser Wishart, chief executive of PFA Scotland, said:

“We are delighted to support the Christmas Toybank Appeal again this year.

“Many of our members have children of their own so the appeal really resonates with them and they want to do their bit to make Christmas a happier time for those who struggle at this time of year.

“Christmas is supposed to be a magical time and no child should have to go without. We hope our donation will help put a smile on the faces of children across the country on Christmas morning.”

Anas Sarwar MSP from the Sarwar Foundation said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to all individuals and organisations which have made generous donations to the Toybank Appeal.

“For too many families across Scotland, Christmas it is a time for worry, anxiety and increased hardship – and this year will be tougher than most.

“Working with our charity partners, Scotland’s Christmas Toybank Appeal is on course to be bigger than ever this year, supporting thousands of children across the country.

“We would be enormously grateful for any further support, so please donate generously and help guarantee a Christmas for children across Scotland.”
